Please reach out to us if you or a neighbor are in need.
We serve the Glen Cove community, but in unique circumstances we may partner with nearby conferences to serve needs that cross jurisdictions.
To best help you, please fill out the form below and a Vincentian will be in touch.
What type of help do you provide?
The Society provides food, furniture and clothing, as well as financial assistance with utility bills, rent assistance and other services.
What is the process?
Please fill out the form below with your name, contact information, and a description of your need. While our Chapter’s resources are limited, we assess all outreach to us.
In Fiscal Year 2025, the Glen Cove Conference conducted 61 home visits and assisted 142 individuals, including 50 children, by providing $31,000 in financial assistance.
What is a home visit?
Those who contact us for assistance will receive a home visit by two Vincentians from the Glen Cove Conference. The home visit enables us to understand a person or family’s needs in addition to their initial request for aid. Home visits are a required part of the process and usually take place in the privacy and comfort of the individual’s or family’s residence, or in another place that is more convenient for the individual – with the goal of offering a safe place to share the stories of the challenges they face.
The home visit provides a one-on-one encounter, an opportunity for the individual or family to share the struggle they face, and to realize that hope is not lost. It is also a time for Vincentians to assess what assistance the conference can provide and if there are other resources that may be helpful to the individual or family.
What happens after the home visit?
The Vincentians who have conducted the home visit share the facts of their encounter with their fellow Vincentians in the conference and then set out to see what type of assistance is needed and what the conference is able to provide.
